Today, At 5:45pm

my mum passed away after her 5-year struggle with Motor Neurone Disease. She bore the illness with such grace and bravery. She was a rare woman.

She went peacefully, surrounded by family and close friends, to this beautiful piece of music:

The translated lyrics are here:

Do not be sorrowful or regretful;
Be calm, as God has ordained, and thus my will shall be content.
What do you want to worry about from day to day?
There is One who stands above all who gives you, too, what is yours.
Only be steadfast in all you do,
stand firm; what God has decided, that is and must be the best.
Amen.

I am so glad she could be there for my 18th birthday. It was just as she wanted. I love her so much, and she will always remain a part of me.

Heaven is partying with their new recruit :)
That truly is a beautiful piece of music and so appropriate. You're just as brave, Katie :) I'm pleased she waited for your 18th and she left in a peaceful manner. I pray God grants you all great peace at this time <3 Alisi xo

A beautiful peace of music Katie, thankyou for sharing it.I agree with the above, you've all shown such courage and strength in walking this journey with your Mum. As you say, the suffering for her is over and may she now fly free as you all start on your journey of healing. Remembering all that she taught you and soon may you find joy in all those precious memories. Love and hugs always. xxxx Helen

Darling, I am listening to the music right now. It's beautiful and so are the words. Heartbroken for you all. Raewyn...what an amazing lady - truly remarkable, always has been! The last 5 years and recent months have underlined this - what we always knew about her. She never stopped thinking and caring about others even when she was fighting such a horrendous battle herself. We were so lucky to have known her, she was such a significant part of our family and I know she was super proud of you, her precious girl! Now our thoughts are very much with you every single day! Dad is jumping on a plane tomorrow - wish I could come with him to give you a hug in person.
Love love love, Mari xxxx

In this time of grief, may the peace which passes all understanding and God's immense Love comfort and keep each of you. Your family has been a real example of strength and perseverance to us all.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."- John 14.27

Dear Katie,

Matthew 5:4
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

I'm extremely sorry for loss, she was a good music teacher. He is merciful and a giver of all comfort. She would have been extremely proud of you.

Heavenly father,
Grant to all who are bereaved the spirit of faith and courage, that they may have the strength to meet the days to come with steadfastness and patience; not sorrowing as those without hope but in thankful remembrance of thy great goodness in the past years; and in the sure expectation of a joyful reunion with those that they love; and this we ask the name of Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Amen.

Will be thinking of you so much tomorrow ( Tuesday) even though it will be the middle of the night for me. I'll be with you all in spirit and waking/watching the clock. Lots of love ( and please give Luke my love too). xxx Mari
